Yes, I Still Craft!

Hello, everyone! Ugh, I hate how I’m ignoring this blog the past few months. I promise I’ll try to do better! I am still crafting and thought I’d share a few cards I recently made.

This card I made to accompany the gift I purchased for my December 2011 mom’s onesie exchange. I used my 9 Months Cricut cartridge for the pregnant lady and I welded the words together using my Gypsy and the Gypsy Font cartridge. All the paper used was Stampin’ Up! in the colors Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake (the lady’s skin was just some cardstock I had in my stash). To complete the card I Cuttlebugged the lady’s dress, added a SU! button to her hair and placed some SU! pearls in three of the corners.

Here’s a thank you card I made. This one didn’t turn out as nice as I would have liked. Looking back I wish I would have stamped the butterflies on a separate piece of cardstock and then fussy cut them out and glued them to the circle. Oh well… live and learn! For the background layer I used some Pear Pizzaz Stampin’ Up! cardstock and scored it in my Martha Stewart scoreboard. I then took some So Saffron and used my SU! scallop edge border punch and then added some Bashful Blue ribbon and used a random “thank you” stamp I had in my stash.  Next I took a couple punches and punched out a circle of Very Vanilla and a scalloped circle of Bashful Blue. The flowers and butterflies are from the Sweet Summer SU! stamp set. To complete the card I added some SU! bling.

Probably my favorite of the three cards! I used my Bloom Cricut Lite cartridge for the flowers (such a great cartridge!). Stampin’ Up! cardstock colors I used include Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzaz and Wild Wasabi. I used my SU! scallop border edge punch and some Early Espresso grosgrain ribbon and my Polka Dots Cuttlebug folder. The “thanks” stamp is from the SU! Fabulous Phrases set and to complete the card I added a few stick-on pearls.

Thank you all for looking, and I hope to blog a bit more around these parts! If you haven’t checked out my other blog, you can see it here, I update over there a lot more.

Also, if you’re interested in any of the Stampin’ Up! products, click here to order! They’ve added some more stuff to the clearance section, so I suggest you take a look and snap up some great products before they’re all gone!

Back To Her Roots

When I got pregnant I wanted to make a pregnancy scrapbook. However, with the first trimester came the extreme exhaugstion, and no desire to do much with crafting. So, I bought the Belly Book. It’s basically a fill-in-the-blank pregnancy journal/scrapbook. I’ve enjoyed filling it out so far, but now that I’m feeling better I’ve been aching to get back in to crafting.

And then I saw it. About 2 weeks ago Cricut came out with a brand new line of Lite cartridges (the carts that are sold exclusively at Wal-Mart), and one of them is called 9 Months. Yep, you guessed it… a pregnancy themed Cricut cartridge! Now, Cricut has quite a few baby related cartridges, but this is the first all pregnancy one. Soooo… I just had to have it of course! The images are cute, and there are like 30 or 40 pregnancy phrases on it.

So the past couple of days I’ve been working on the cover for my pregnancy scrapbook, here it is!

Back to her roots

You guys might recall that I started LGP last summer as a crafting blog. Well, over the past 11 months it has evolved in to more of a personal blog. For the past month or so I’ve been toying with creating a separate personal blog and returning LGP to it’s former crafting glory.

So without further ado, let me introduce you to The Accidental Wallflower! TAW will be a more all encompassing blog, with posts on my pregnancy, food and the goings on of everyday life and LGP will refocus on crafting and decorating. I started TAW on Blogger instead of WordPress because I feel that Blogger blogs are much more accessible to people, although at this point I still think I prefer WordPress.

What are you still doing here? Head over to The Accidental Wallflower and check it out!!

Our Second Bathroom

It’s been a while since I did a room tour, and I still have four more rooms to get through! Click here and here for my previous tours. We were fortunate to find a condo in our price range that has two full bathrooms. It wasn’t on our “must” list when we were looking, but it’s been wonderful to have. Especially since our master bath only has a shower, and you ladies know it’s soooo much easier to shave your legs in a tub! Here are some pictures of the bathroom.

I used the Home Decor Cricut cartridge for the vinyl wall art

I used the Cindy Loo Cricut cartridge to create the wall art in the frames

This was a difficult shot to get since the bathroom isn't that large!

I bought everything at Target, and I’m absolutely in love with the shower curtain! I don’t know if I would have ever thought to pair lime green and gray, but it works really nicely. Oh, and in case you were wondering, we have to keep the TP under the sink because a certain someone likes to play with it and tear it to shreds :).

Guest Blogger!

Here is a post by my husband describing the anniversary card he made me last week.

I decided to keep my card simple. Now, some may say that means I’m untalented, and others will say they’re right. First, I cut a piece of purple cardstock in half and began my journey. I started by cutting a piece of lavender scrap paper using the largest mold of the Deckled Rectangles Nestabilities. After that, I placed it in the center of the card.
Then, I cut out the “Happy Anniversary” and Heart from the Sentimentals Cricut Cartridge. Both overlapped each other and were placed on top of dimensional adhesives. The holes on the heart were then popped out and the bling bejeweled the shape.
The final step was inking the edges of the card with a (unintentionally) light silver ink pad. It may be hard to see on the picture, but its there.
Lindsey said she enjoyed the card, so now I hope the rest of you do as well. Thanks so much and please order stuff from lindseyzaldivar.stampinup.net.

Winter Blues Card Swap Cards!

First, I have to apologize for being soooooo late with this post! I’ve been busy with getting everything ready with my new Stampin’ Up! business. But I suppose it is fitting that I waited until today to post these since today was the first day all year I was able to go outside without a coat! Here are the cards I received from the card swap I organized in February.

1. This card and tag were sent from Lauren in Florida (renmac19 on YT). Lauren wasn’t in my group for the swap but asked if she could send me a card anyways, how sweet! I was so taken with her kindness that I sent her a card in return!
2. This card is from Cheryl in Ontario, Canada (thecraftnut32 on YT)
3. This card is from Wendy also in Ontario, Canada (wendyscreativecraftingcorner.blogspot.com)
4. This card is from Hazelle in Manitoba, Canada (scrapL0VE02 on YT)

My husband, Ant also participated in the swap, and here are the cards he received:

1. This card is from Carolanne in South Carolina (loganscraftymomma.com)
2. This is another card from Carolanne, she sent 2 cards which was so sweet!
3. This card is from Cassie in Florida (flapaperlover.blogspot.com). Cassie also sent some cute papers, a butterfly punch border and a little stamp set, so sweet!

My husband was in a group with 2 other people who he did not receive cards from. We were both pretty disappointed about that! If you can’t fulfill your obligation when signing up for a swap, please just don’t sign up! I’m not sure if the other ladies in his group received cards from the people who didn’t send Ant cards or not.

Here is the card Ant created to send out to the crafters in his group:

He was pretty proud of it! Here is what he used to create the card:

Cardstock scraps
-DCWV patterned paper
Fiskars texture plate
-Just Because Cards Cricut cartridge (background shapes)
-Create A Critter Cricut cartridge (flower and sun)
-“hello” stamp

I didn’t take a picture of the cards I sent out, but here is the video tutorial I made featuring the card:

I loved all the cards we received and will be displaying them in the craft room! Thank you to everyone who participated in the Winter Blues Card Swap, it was so much fun!

Red Hatters Blog Hop

Welcome to the Red Hatters Blog Hop hosted by Dusti from Scrappin With Cricut! And if you’re new to LGP, I’m so glad you’ve stopped by and are participating in the hop! My name is Lindsey and I’ve been scrapbooking since 1999 and just started card making last year. I recently became  a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, and would be so appreciative if you would visit my SU! website here. The Sale-A-Bration is going on now, and you can get awesome, free product with every $50 you spend!

I actually had recorded a video for my YouTube channel for this blog hop, but I have been having trouble uploading it. It seems like every other video I try and upload I have issues with. Any suggestions/solutions welcome! If I get it to upload before Sunday, I’ll post it.

If you’re following the hop, you should have gotten here from Deanna’s blog, and once you’re done here, continue over to Sue’s blog. Here’s the entire list of the Blog Hop participants.

Dusti at Scrappin With Cricut

Lindsey at La Georgia Paperie

Sue at Sue in CT

Jessica at Chick-n-Scrap

Here is what I came up with for the hop!

As you can see, I made an A2 sized card (which is simply an 8.5”x11” sheet of cardstock, and then folded in half!). Here are the supplies I used to make the card:

-Red, purple, cream and black cardstock
-Amy Butler paper
-Swiss Dots and Polka Dots Cuttlebug folders
-Red and purple bling
-Red embroidery floss
-Fired Brick, Dusty Concord and Pumice Stone Distress Inks
-Fiskars edge punch
-Heidi Swapp Distress Tool
-“Thankful for You” stamp
-Black embossing powder

Along with all the supplies mentioned above, I used my Forever Young Cricut cartridge. I cut the girl out at 4.75” and the hat at .5” and then put it all together! I am pleased with how the card turned out, and it was fun to really put my Distress Inks to use, I don’t typically do this much distressing on a project.

What blog hop would be complete with some blog candy? This is my very first giveaway, and here is what you can win!

You’ll get 2 Inkadinkado stamp sets and 2 stamp pads! To win, all you have to do is leave a comment on this blog post with your email address. Unfortunately this giveaway is only open to US residents, and if you don’t include your email address, you won’t qualify to win. One comment per person please. And as I mentioned, I just became a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, so if you make a purchase through my SU! website you’ll get an extra entry for every $25 you spend! So you potentially have unlimited chances to win! The giveaway will close Monday, March 14th at 10pm CST. I will draw the winner by Tuesday, March 15th.

Thanks for hopping with the Red Hatters Blog Hop, and good luck with the blog candy!
